Old Bernal House

Jun, 05 by Nina.

I recently came across photos of a renovated 1860′s cottage home in San Francisco’s Bernal Heights neighborhood and am just in love it! Feldman Architecture did an amazing job of bringing light into the space, using a great mix of natural materials & creating a beautiful oasis for a modern day family…

1860s cottage with a modern yet classic update

Love how the light flows into the living room from overhead

I can’t imagine this kitchen ever looking out-dated. Love the large stone wall to warm up & ground the space.

The back of the kitchen counter looks like it’s own lovely piece of furniture in the dining room.

Great layout & use of indoor/outdoor space.

Stone, wood & glass along with modern accents = a great mix.

This double height bookcase & window wall visually connect the first & second levels.

I could get used to this…

Really beautiful details

Love this bathroom – great use of materials + white tiles + clean lines.

Modern yet still fits context of original structure.

Feldman Architecture has a slew of amazing projects you can see here.
